NEWS LETTER

May, 1999

Sunday Night Practices Began May 2!!!!!

We are extremely excited about our new Sunday evenig practice sessions which began May 2 at the Mid Hudson Civic Center. We encourage all players who intend to play with a Dutchess Youth Hockey team next fall in the Mites through Bantam age division to attend.

Our goal for these sessions is to provide purposeful, well designed, practices which will not only assist in the individual development or player's skills and knowledge that each player will be able to continue to build upon as he or she progresses through program.

The cost for all 13 available sessions is $150. You may also pay $15 per each session that your child participates in. Should you chose to pay for individual sessions, please note that payment will be due before your child takes the ice.

These sessions are specifically designed for children that are intending to play with DYHA next season. Therefore, there will be certain limitations for players who played with an organization other than DYHA during the 1998-1999 season. Anyone with questions regarding these limitations should contact either Brian Acard or Pat Marciano. Players who did not play with DYHA last season will be required to show proof of USA Hockey insurance, or register for such insurance with DYHA before taking the ice.

Times for the Sunday evening practice sessions are as follows:

Mite/Squirts: 6:45 - 7:45

PeeWee/Bantam: 8:00 - 9:00

We look forward to having you all come out so we can help our players and organization begin preparing for next season now!!

COMMENTS,

CRITICISMS,

SUGGESTIONS???

We are very interested in hearing about your thoughts from last season. In order for us to continue to improve DYHA we need to hear from you. If you have any thoughts about any aspect of the program, whether it be coaching, fund raising, scheduling or anything else that comes to mind, we would greatly appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to write them down and send them to us. All letters will be kept confidential, and may even be sent anonymously. We do ask that you identify which team your son or daughter played for.

Please send your letter to:

INTERESTED IN

COACHING?

We are still accepting letters from anyone interested in coaching during the 1999-2000 season. If you are interested, please send a letter to Brian Acard indicating your esperience and the age level you would like to coach. Please include a phone number so that we can contact you for an interview.

THANKS FOR A

GREAT SEASON!!!!

We again want to thank all of the coaches, parents and players for making last season such a success.

DYHA is extremely proud of it's on-ice success of having six teams qualify for the Hudson Valley League Playoffs with our Banatam team winning the League Championship and participating in the New York State Play downs. We are equally proud of our in-house players and teams who continue to develop and sharpen their skills.

We are also very proud of our players for the way they carried themselves and represented our association. DYHA believes that the manner in which players conduct themselves on and off the ice is just as important as winning games. This year our players displayed outstanding sportsmanship and competitive spirit. We congratulate them along with their parents and coaches.
